Walk for Water

The Water Project

Over 2 million children die yearly from preventable water-related illnesses. The Water Team at Grace First operates in collaboration with the international non-profit organization Living Waters for the World (LWW) to address this need by helping communities in Peru to install and operate water purification systems. Water Team members have received LWW training in the areas of water system installation and maintenance, health education, and water project administration. Our work with church groups in rural areas of Peru includes joint planning of system installation, celebration together of clean water production, and sustainability visits in subsequent years to continue to monitor progress and share successes. We have installed systems together with community water teams in Pacro Yuncán in the Andean mountains and in Ramal de Aspuzana in the Amazon jungle area of Peru. We are currently planning collaboratively with the community in San José de Sisa for an installation in 2026. For more information about the work of the Water Team and/or joining the team, please contact Water Team leader Allison Snider at GFPCWaterTeam@gmail.com or Leslie Reese at Leslie.Reese@csulb.edu.
