Horizons Bible Study (via zoom)

3rd Wednesdays of the month @ 7:00PM

All are invited to join us as we study the Horizons Bible for 2020-21

Into the Light: Finding Hope Through Prayers of Lament by Lynn Miller.

This is a timely study as we study lament as a proper theological response to the difficult situations of our world. One of the foundational points of the study is that, in scripture, lament usually leads to hope. After crying out to God, the one who laments remembers God. And while that doesn’t fix things in the moment—the injustice, the loss, the wrong still exist - the one who laments is strengthened to face the world and to hope. When we lament, we move from suffering to faith. In our faith there is hope. We lament in order to hope. Recovering lament may be one of the church’s most timely gifts to the world.

Lunch & Learn

The Grace First Lunch and Learn program meets on the second Sunday of each month. The vision for the Lunch and Learn program is to explore ways in which people of faith can address current social issues of our time. The program features guest speakers following the 11:00AM service.

Due to Covid-19, the Lunch & Learn program has been put on hold until we are able to gather together again safely.

Inquirer’s Class

A New Member Class at Grace First

The journey of faith is an adventure.

When starting out on a journey, we cannot know every detail of what we will encounter and experience on our way.

We trust God’s promises now and throughout history.

As we set out on our journey, God equips us with gifts of God’s spirit to serve Christ in our community and world. God gives us faith, which is “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

No matter where you are in your journey of faith – whether you are new to the Christian faith, seeking or questioning, or if you are desire a deeper faith – you are invited to participate in our Explorer’s/Inquirer’s Class.

In this class, you will learn more about the beliefs and governance of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.); the mission, purpose, and core values of the Grace First Family; as well as exploring your own faith journey.

There is no obligation to join after attending the class.

To learn more about the beliefs of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of which we are a part, you may visit – https://pma.pcusa.org/ministries/101/who-are-we/
