Maundy Thursday

Thursday, March 28 | 7:00PM
in the Sanctuary

"Maundy" comes from the Latin word mandatum, or commandment, reflecting on Jesus' words: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34)
Based on Matthew 24:47-50, Pastor Jonas Hayes will preach a message on Friendship.

Good Friday

Friday, March 29 | 7:00PM
in the Sanctuary

Good Friday service will be The Service of Tenebrae (Latin for "shadows" or "darkness"). This service will reflect on the last seven sayings Jesus uttered on the cross. Candles will be gradually extinguished to symbolize the growing darkness not only of Jesus’ death but of hopelessness in the world without God. The service ends in darkness with a final candle, the Christ candle, extinguished, symbolizing the death of Jesus, and we wait for the story to continue...

Walk for Water

Due to the rain predicted to hit our area this weekend, we have postponed the Walk for Water that was scheduled for this Holy Saturday morning. It promises to be a moving, reflective experience along the river greenbelt, so we have rescheduled the walk for Saturday, June 1.

Flowering the Cross
If you would like to bring your own flower to place into the cross during the service, please bring it trimmed with at least a 3-inch stem. Additional flowers will be provided, so all can participate.

The Resurrection of the Lord is the center of the Christian year, and the good news we proclaim on this day is the very heart of the gospel.
